Two wrist watches worth Rs 5 crore have been seized from cricketer Hardik Pandya at the Mumbai airport on his return from Dubai, news agency ANI reported on Tuesday.

Mr Pandya allegedly did not have a bill for the watches, the report said, adding that they were seized by the Customs Department on Sunday night.

"Customs Department seized two wrist watches worth Rs 5 crores of cricketer Hardik Pandya, on Sunday night (November 14) when he was returning from Dubai. The cricketer did not have the bill receipt of the watches," ANI quoted a Mumbai Customs Department statement as saying.

Hardik Pandya was returning from Dubai after India wrapped up its stint at the T20 World Cup.

According to ANI, Hardik Pandya's brother, cricketer Krunal Pandya was also intercepted at the Mumbai International Airport over suspicion of being in possession of undisclosed gold and other valuables last year.
