Five people were killed and more than a dozen others were injured in a shooting at a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, officials said.
The venue, Club Q, described the shooting as a "hate attack," saying it was "devastated by the senseless attack on our community." At least 18 people were injured, officials said.

"Our prays and thoughts are with all the victims and their families and friends," the club said in a statement posted on Facebook. "We thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack."
Police said they received the first call at about 11:57 p.m. on Saturday night. They said a suspect was also injured and in was custody.
The FBI said it was on the scene in Colorado Springs.
