Every day, we hear about a new educational livestream that our kids could or should be tuning in to. Virtual museum tours and visits to zoos and science demonstrations—even virtual gym classes. The resources are out there; the challenge is keeping them all straight.

Luckily, someone else is already doing that part for us. Everywhere School, which we discovered via kottke.org’s quick links, is curating educational livestreams each day during the pandemic. There are circle times, cooking classes, art lessons, concerts, dance lessons—and on and on.

The list is easy to scan, starting with streams that are currently live and followed by upcoming scheduled streams for the rest of the day. You can also scan ahead to see what will be streaming tomorrow or later in the week if you are a real plan-ahead type of person. In most cases, even if the stream isn’t live at the moment, you can click through to the organization or host’s YouTube channel or Facebook page to view previous videos in their collection.

Keep in mind that, as always, you should still be vetting what your kids are watching. I didn’t see any streams that looked at all inappropriate, but Everywhere School says on its website that although they do their best to ensure the content is appropriate for kids, “it’s possible that challenging or offensive content may be included by accident. Everywhere School will do its best to vet the streams it recommends, but we do not control the content that is shown.”

So keep an eye on things and give their choices your own parental stamp of approval, is what they’re saying. And if you know of other livestreams that should be included in their list, you can submit them here.
