PlayStation 5 owners, listen up: You’re about to lose your chance to play a collection of classic PS4 games on the cheap. Sony is pulling the plug on its PlayStation Plus Collection, a group of games released between 2014 and 2019. If you want to play 2018's God of War or Bloodborne for “free,” or for at least as little as possible, you need to act fast.
Sony introduced the PlayStation Plus Collection back in 2020 as an incentive for new PS5 users to sign up for PlayStation Plus. In addition to the various benefits a PlayStation Plus subscription offered in ‘20, your extra reward for sending Sony a monthly payment included access to an exclusive list of excellent PS4 games. But, alas, all good things must come to an end: Sony announced in February it would no longer offer the PlayStation Plus Collection as of Tuesday, May 9. Come tomorrow, those of us with a PS5 but no PlayStation Plus plan will thus lose out.
However, the good news is a PlayStation Plus subscription will allow you to keep your access to these games, at least for the time being. If you’re an active member, or if you sign up today, you can claim and continue play them as long as you’re an active PlayStation Plus subscriber—just as you can any of the titles in Sony’s rotating library of monthly offerings.
As noted by IGN, there are currently 19 games in the PlayStation Plus Collection, including 10 Sony IP titles and nine third-party games:
Games from PlayStation Worldwide Studios:
BloodborneDays GoneDetroit: Become HumanGod of WarInfamous Second SonRatchet and ClankThe Last GuardianThe Last of Us RemasteredUntil DawnUncharted 4: A Thief’s EndThird-party games:
Batman: Arkham KnightBattlefield 1Call of Duty: Black Ops III - Zombies Chronicles EditionCrash Bandicoot N. Sane TrilogyFallout 4Final Fantasy XV Royal EditionMonster Hunter: WorldMortal Kombat XResident Evil 7: BiohazardPersona 5 was once part of the collection, but Sony removed it last May.
For the moment, any PlayStation Plus subscription will give you access to the Collection, so you can opt for the cheapest plan (Essential) to check these titles out. If you miss the deadline, you can still access some of the games from the list, like Bloodborne, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Batman: Arkham Knight, The Last Guardian, God of War, Uncharted 4, and Fallout 4, if you spring for the Extra or Premium subscription tiers. The cheapest and most convenient way to access all 19 games from the Collection is to subscribe to the Essential plan today.

How to claim PlayStation Plus Collection games before Sony’s May 9 deadline
To find the PlayStation Plus Collection, first open PlayStation Store on your PS5, head to Collections, then scroll until you find PlayStation Plus Collection. (You can also find it from the PlayStation Plus tab, then scroll all the way to the bottom of the page). In order to access the games after May 9, you’ll need to claim each one. Just select each title, then add to your library. You don’t need to download them now, as you’ll still be able to at a later time.
