A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan and one civilian died this morning and three CRPF troops were injured after terrorists attacked a patrol party in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.
Terrorists resorted to indiscriminate firing on a CRPF patrol party in Baramulla district's Sopore town, about 50 km from Srinagar, police said. The CRPF troops retaliated but the terrorists managed to escape.
Four CRPF troops were injured in the attack. One of them later died due to injuries.
A man, who was in a car with his children, was also shot during the attack. He died on the spot, a senior police official said. His three-year-old son was also in the car.

"Terrorists attacked a naka (patrol) party at Sopore's Model Town. The area has been cordoned off and search operation has been started," Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, Jammu & Kashmir Police, was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Search is on for the terrorists, the Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet.

Last month, J&K police chief Dilbag Singh said that more than 100 terrorists have been killed this year. "During the last five-and-a-half months, over 100 terrorists have been neutralised, out of them 50 plus were from the Hizbul Mujahideen, around 20 from the Lashkar-e-Taiba, 20 from the Jaish-e-Mohammed and the rest from smaller outfits like Al-Badr, Ansar Gazwatul Hind," Mr Singh said.
