Eight of the Best Places to Celebrate Oktoberfest in the US

Oktoberfest may be a German tradition, but that doesn’t mean you have to go to Germany to celebrate. In fact, there are plenty of great locations across the U.S. where you can enjoy all the fun of Oktoberfest. Here are eight worth traveling for.

Cape Coral, Fla.

If you’re looking for a warm-weather Oktoberfest destination, look no further than Cape Coral, Fla. This city comes alive during Oktoberfest, with plenty of German food, beer, and entertainment to enjoy. Oktoberfest in Cape Coral is put on by the German American Social Club. In 2022, it’ll run from Oct. 21-23 and Oct. 28-30.

Addison, Texas

Addison, Texas is home to one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in the country. This year’s event will feature over 50 different beers, as well as traditional German food and music. Addison Oktoberfest runs from Sept. 15-18, 2022.

Cincinnati

Cincinnati’s Oktoberfest is the largest in the country, attracting over 500,000 visitors each year. This year’s event will feature more than 100 different beers, as well as traditional German food and music. Oktoberfest in Cincinnati runs from Sept.16-8.

Hershey, Pa.

Hershey is known for its chocolate, but did you know that it’s also a great place to celebrate Oktoberfest—aptly named Choctoberfest. Choctoberfest is one day only—on Oct.15—so mark your calendar now if you want to attend!

La Crosse, Wis.

If you’re looking for a smaller-scale Oktoberfest celebration, La Crosse is the perfect place. This quaint city comes alive during “Das Beste” Oktoberfest, with plenty of German food, beer, and music to enjoy. La Crosse Oktoberfest runs from Sept. 29-Oct. 1.

Frankenmuth, Mich.

Frankenmuth is a great place to celebrate Oktoberfest if you’re looking for a mix of German culture and Americana. This charming city is home to Bavarian Inn, one of the best places to enjoy Oktoberfest in the U.S. Frankenmuth Oktoberfest runs from Sept.15-18.

Leavenworth, Wash.

If you want to experience a truly authentic Oktoberfest celebration, Leavenworth is the spot. This picturesque city is located in the Cascade Mountains and is home to one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in the country. Leavenworth Oktoberfest runs from Sept. 30-Oct.1; Oct. 7-8; and Oct. 14-15.

New Orleans

New Orleans may not be Germany, but that doesn’t stop this city from celebrating Oktoberfest. NOLA is known to be a city great at putting on celebrations, and there’s no skimping with Oktoberfest New Orleans. Oktoberfest New Orleans runs from Oct. 7-8; Oct. 14-5; and Oct. 21-22.
