Family Dollar is voluntarily recalling multiple Advil products from an undisclosed number of their stores across the country. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announcement, the recall is due to the drugs being improperly stored outside of the recommended room temperature by Family Dollar.
Which Advil products are being recalled?
The following Advil products with their respective SKU numbers were stored and shipped to certain Family Dollar stores on or around June 1, 2022 through March 31, 2023:
0901458 Advil 200mg Tablet 100ct0901839 Advil 200 Mg Caplet 24 Ct0902867 Advil Dual Action 36ct Caplet0913023 Advil Tablet 50ct0916071 Advil Liquid Gel 40 Ct0999259 Advil Tablet 6ct0999841 Advil Liqui Gel Minis 20ctYou can find the specific batch numbers for each of the SKU numbers listed above that are affected by this recall here. As of this writing, FDA says there are no official consumer complaints or reports of illness directly involved with this recall. Family Dollar has notified all their affected stores and asked them to clear all of the affected products from their shelves.
What to do if you have the recalled Advil products?
You should check your medicine cabinets to make sure you don’t have any of the recalled products. The FDA says you can return the affected products to the Family Dollar store you bought them from without a receipt. They also recommend you contact your physician or healthcare provider if you have experienced any problems related to the recalled Advil products. You can also report the problem to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program here.
