Given all the quarancleaning that has been going on over the past year while we were stuck at home without much else to do, your 2021 spring cleaning may be a light lift. On the other hand, you also may have gone a little overboard with online shopping this year—both out of necessity and as a stress reliever—and accumulated some extra clutter around your home.
And so now, Blue Moon (makers of that one beer that your aunt likes—you know, the one with the orange slice) and Joanna Teplin and Clea Shearer, founders of organization company The Home Edit, have an a proposition for you: donate some of the items around your house that don’t really need to be there, and get the chance to win some beer in return. Here’s how to get the junk out of your house and a beer into your hand.
How to trade clutter for beer
The process is pretty straightforward:
Follow @bluemoonbrewco on Instagram and TwitterSnap a photo of six items you’ve identified for donation and and share on your public Instagram or Twitter feed, including the hashtags #LightSkyLightenUp and #sweeps. If you’re posting to Instagram, also tag @bluemoonbrewco. You must also keep following Blue Moon until April 30, 2021 to be eligible.Download a free shipping label here (up to 330 labels are available on a first come first served basis), then pack up your goods and ship them off for donation. (If the labels are gone, drop your stuff off at a location donation center.)
G/O Media may get a commission
One entrant will be chosen at random to win a one-on-one virtual organization session with The Home Edit people. Then 165 Twitter entries, and 165 Instagram entries will be selected to win the beer prize—although it comes in the form of a $15 Venmo payment (not that we’re complaining).
Naturally, you need to be at least 21 years of age to enter this beer contest. Here are the rest of the rules, terms and conditions, if you’d like to take a look.
