Technology has brought us convenience at the push of a button (or the tap of a screen) but usually it comes at a price. But what if the price was...free? Meal delivery service via Uber Eats typically demands a per order fee or a monthly subscription to net you rapid delivery of your takeout, but right now you can get free deliveries for two years for $0—with a catch: You’ll need to open a new Capital One credit card.

How to get free Uber Eats deliveries for a year

The Uber Eats promotion is actually a better deal than just that, as it comes as part of a free two year membership to Uber One, which offers discounts on many Uber rides as well as up to a 10 percent savings and free delivery on Uber Eats orders (you’ll also get free grocery delivery and other perks). Uber One is normally $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.

Capital One is currently offering free two-year Uber One memberships as a signup perk if you open a new account for their Savor, SavorOne, SavorOne Rewards for Students, or Quicksilver Rewards for Students credit cards. The two-year, $200 value of the promotion isn’t the best signup bonus out there, but if Uber One’s services are useful to you—and opening a new credit card makes sense for your finances—it could be a decent deal. (Note the Savor card carries a $95 annual fee.)

To sign up for the promotion, apply for the best Capital One card for your needs. If you already have an Uber One membership, you’ll then need to log into your account and set your new Capital One card as the method of payment for a monthly Uber One membership. If you’re new to Uber One, sign up for the Uber One on the monthly plan (not the annual plan) using your new card as the payment method. Don’t use any stored Uber Cash to pay for the membership.

Your Capital One card will be charged each month for your Uber One membership, and you’ll get a statement credit for each month of your membership period. Your complimentary membership will continue until Nov. 14, 2024.
