Now here’s a crappy way to make $1,500: You can donate to the GoodNature Program, which takes stool samples from the public, which they use to further research into gastrointestinal infections and disorders. GoodNature will pay you for your deposits, so to speak, meaning you can help save lives and make some money at the same time. Well shit, how does that work?
What is the GoodNature stool donation program?
The GoodNature Stool Donation Program collects crap from healthy individuals to study it with the goal of advancing medical treatment or providing therapies for the potentially fatal gastrointestinal disease C. difficile, a bacterium that can cause diarrhea and other life-threatening colonic conditions.
Who is eligible to participate?
As you can imagine, if your poop is going to potentially save lives, it must be the number one number two, so unfortunately, not just anyone can be a bathroom hero. Here are the qualifying requirements to participate in the program:
You have regular bowel movementsAre 18 to 50 years oldAre of a normal weightDon’t smokeHave no history of gastrointestinal disease or alcohol or drug abuseAre not pregnantLive near one of the donation centersThat las tone is probably the sticking point. If you are lucky enough to live in Los Angeles, Boston, or Phoenix, Ariz., you are likely close enough to one of the donation sites to participate. You must be able to poop in one the collection site’s restrooms in person and at least three times a week. They will also draw your blood every two to six weeks.

If you meet the criteria, fill out their online survey and wait to be contacted by the program. They will follow up to let you know more information and answer any questions you might have.
How much is your poop worth?
Depending which office you’re assigned, the program will pay you $25 to $75 per visit, up to $1,500 per month. You are also eligible to receive a bonus for donating three to seven days a week.
