A few hours from now, it will be a new year. And we hate to be the bearers of bad news, but as happy as we are to see 2021 come to a close, we’re also realistic about the fact that things won’t magically get better at the stroke of midnight tonight.

And, for the second year in a row, the COVID-19 pandemic has put a damper on New Year’s Eve plans, prompting many people who previously spent the evening out on the town to stay home. (It’s also a great excuse for people who hate New Year’s Eve—and think it’s an overrated holiday with too much pressure to have fun—to stay home without judgment.)

While Seacrest is holding down the fort in Times Square, Daddy Yankee and Roselyn Sanchez will be hosting the first-ever Spanish language New Year’s Rockin’ Eve countdown from Puerto Rico. In addition to being the 50th anniversary of the countdown, it will also mark the 500th anniversary of San Juan’s founding. It’ll take place at 11 pm ET (which is midnight Puerto Rico time) and will air during the Times Square broadcast on ABC.
