The 9th generation, 10.2-inch iPad is selling right now for nearly the cheapest it has ever been since its release in 2021: You can get the 64-gigabyte iPad for $250 at Target and Best Buy, down from its most recent $330 price tag. That’s the lowest price these stores have sold this iPad since its release in 2021, according to Honey’s price history.
This iPad is the “budget” version of the iPad models, and its newest iteration—the 10th generation iPad—is currently selling for $450. (There’s also the iPad Mini ($499), iPad Air ($599), and iPad Pro, the latter of which comes in both an 11-inch model ($799) or 12.9-inch model ($1,099), if those are more your speed.)
The 9th generation is the last iPad to still have a physical home button (with Touch ID technology), as well as the thick black gap (or bezel, as many in the biz like to call it) on the top and bottom of the screen. It also still sports a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you don’t have to rely on just Bluetooth headphones.

However, those new features will cost you. While Apple’s iPad 9 costs $329, this new tablet cots $449. For years, Apple has priced its base iPad far lower than other iPads, as an affordable way for customers to access its tablets. The iPad 10 doesn’t seem to align with that strategy anymore. Is moving the webcam to another side of the iPad so expensive?

Depending on what you’re looking for, this iPad could be a solid alternative to the other models considering its much cheaper price point.
