Trader Joe’s cookies generally rock...but maybe they rock a little too much recently. If you get an extra crunch from eating Trader Joe’s almond cookies, it could be because the popular grocery store chain has put out an announcement recalling two of its cookies for potentially containing rocks. Here’s what you need to know.
Which Trader Joe’s cookies were recalled?
The recall is for potential foreign materials in two of their products—specifically, rocks. Trader Joe’s says they were alerted by their supplier that two of their products may contain rocks. Here are the affected cookies and their sell-by dates:
A Trader Joe’s spokesperson confirmed that all Trader Joe’s stores nationwide carry both of these cookies, and all stores nationwide are affected by this recall. They also say they have removed all these cookies from the shelves and “destroyed them.”
They do not mention how the rocks got into their cookies, the size of the rocks, or if they taste any good.
What to do if you bought the recalled Trader Joe’s cookies
Trader Joe’s is asking customers to not eat them. Instead, they urge you to discard them or return them to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund. You can check if your cookies are affected by the recall by its “sell by” date.
If you have questions about the recall, you can contact Trader Joe’s customer relations at (626) 599-3817 Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time, or send them an email.
