Nurses, firefighters, and EMTs, this is not an emergency: Two restaurant chains want to give you a free meal this week as a thank you for the work you do and the people you help.
National Firefighter Day is May 4, and in recognition, Smashburger is giving firefighters and EMTs free food. Meanwhile, for Nurses Appreciation Weekend, Firehouse Subs wants is saying thank you with buy one get one free subs (which is admittedly not as generous, but we assume they intended no slight to nurses).
How emergency works can get free food from Smashburger
Emergency workers need simply to walk into a participating Smashburger on May 4 and mention the National Firefighters Day deal to receive a free a Single Classic Smash burger (a $7.19 value here in NYC). You can find a participating Smashburger here.
Not sure if your job qualifies? The full list includes firefighters, fire and rescue services personnel, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), medics, and paramedics. You will need to show a form of identification of employment to claim the free meal, and the deal is limited to one coupon/customer per transaction. You can also get a different item of lesser value if the Single Classic Smash burger is not your jam.
How nurses can get free food from Firehouse Subs
Nurses Appreciation Weekend is this weekend, May 6-7. In recognition, Firehouse Subs if offering nurses a free medium sub with the purchase of another medium or large sub, plus chips and drink, at participating locations. The offer includes any medium sub, including the limited time Smokin’ Triple Stack sub. You will also need to show an ID of employment or proof of employment at the register.
This deal can only be claimed in-person and is limited to one per customer. You can find Firehouse Subs locations here, though the chain hasn’t specifically provided a list of locations participating in the giveaway, so call ahead to make sure.
