If you’re searching for a way to combat the birthday blues, look no further. To start with, your day can be full of free breakfast, lunch, and dinner—and during all the moments in between, there are a handful of retailers that are also interested in spoiling you for a day. So if you’re looking to indulge in some good ol’ fashioned American consumerism on your birthday and don’t want to spend a lick to do it, check out these retailers for some opportunities for freebies.
AMC Theatres. You don’t need to be a member of AMC’s premium movie theater subscription to cash in on a birthday reward. If you’re a member of their free service, AMC Stubs, you can enjoy a free large popcorn that can be redeemed any day during your birthday month (but if you happen to be an AMC A-List member, you get a free large soda, too).
Banana Republic. If you’re a member of the Banana Republic loyalty program (which covers not only Banana Republic, but The Gap, Old Navy, and Athleta, too), you can expect a $15 off coupon to hit your email inbox on your birthday.
Bath & Body Works. If you’re a member of the Bath & Body Works Rewards Program, your loyalty will be acknowledged with a yearly birthday present. You should receive an email to your inbox that includes a coupon for any free travel item up to a value of $7.50.
The Body Shop. This cruelty-free beauty retailer offers a solid birthday gift to any members of their rewards program, the Love Your Body Club. Check in on your birthday and you’ll have a free $10 gift card waiting for you.
G/O Media may get a commission
Dave & Buster’s.If you think you know how to win at classic arcade games and want to put your skills to the test, do so at no cost of your own at Dave & Buster’s. By signing up for their rewards program, you can get $10 of free game play, which can be redeemed ten days before through twenty days after your birthday.
Petco. Okay, so maybe this one isn’t for your birthday, but did you know Petco will give you a free present to celebrate the birthday of your pet? By signing up your pet for the Petco Pet Birthday Club, you will receive a coupon on their birthday for one pound of free treats from the treat bar.
Sephora. As far as retailers go, Sephora has one of the best birthday options for their rewards program members. If you’re signed up for the Beauty Insider Loyalty Program, you get to choose from three mini-sets of their top brands as your birthday gift. This year’s options include Laura Mercier, Amika, and Tatcha.
Redbox. If you’re one of the people left out there still using DVDs, I have some great news for you. Members of RedBox’s free loyalty program, RedBox Perks, can redeem a free one night rental of any movie as their birthday gift to you.
CVS. As a token of their appreciation, CVS gives their ExtraCares customers $3 of ExtraBucks every year on their birthday. ExtraBucks don’t need to be combined with a minimum purchase to be used, which means you can cash yours in on some candy to pair with your free AMC Theatre popcorn.
