There’s a big brand swap happening right now in the Home Depot and Lowe’s space, and you can use it to find savings on various specialized tools—but there are also deals on the basics we could all use around the house. At the home improvement stores, you can buy eighty different sets of pliers from 15 different brands, but almost all of these stores have a basic brand from which you can get a solid, middle-of-the-road tool.
When it comes to electrical tools at Home Depot, that has historically been the Klein brand; at Lowes, it was Ideal. Chances are, most of us own at least one tool from either line.
Lowe’s tools are on sale to make way for a new brand
This year, though, those exclusivity deals are being shaken up, and Klein is now going to Lowe’s. To make room for the brand, their Ideal tools are on clearance, and you may have already seen those savings in-store. It’s also possible that when Klein finally hits shelves, there will be some introductory deals.
Here are some items to grab to take advantage of the savings and get ready for the next electrical job in your home:

Back over at Home Depot, it was originally thought that they were going to clearance Klein and bring in a new brand, but more recent reports clarify that Klein will still have some presence at Home Depot. Despite that, shoppers have reported sales on the brand in many stores as of late, perhaps to either make way for a new brand or newer Klein tools.
While Klein offers the same tools noted above for Ideal, it also has a massive range of screwdrivers, solid wrench sets, levels, and enviable socket sets.
The point is, this is a good time to aisle surf—in person—at both stores to see what kinds of deals you can get to stock up your tool cabinet.
