Pfizer has told the government that its vaccine has shown "high effectiveness" against the India-dominant coronavirus variant that experts believe is behind the devastating second wave of infections and deaths in the country.
The American pharma giant - which is ready to roll out five crore doses by the end of the year, providing the government offers significant regulatory relaxations, including indemnification - also said its vaccine is suitable for everyone over the age of 12.
The vaccine - which uses the previously unproven mRNA method - can be stored for a month between two and eight degrees Celsius.
