PBS Kids and Sesame Street are continuing to provide opportunities for parents to speak with their kids about race and racism. Over the next week, two specials—PBS KIDS Talk About: Race and Racism and The Power of We: A Sesame Street Special—will premier to encourage families to view together and discuss the topics.
The Sesame Street special will feature Elmo; Abby Cadabby; 6-year-old Muppet Gabrielle; her cousin, 8-year-old Tamir—plus a variety of human cast members and celebrity and musical guests—as they learn how to become “upstanders” in their community.
The PBS KIDS Talk special will feature real kids and their parents talking together about race, racism, and how to actively be anti-racist. It will be hosted by Youth Poet Laureate and activist Amanda Gorman:

PBS KIDS Talk About: Race and Racism will premier Friday, Oct. 9 on the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel. The 30-minute special will be available on PBS stations nationwide (check your local listings). You can also stream it on PBSKIDS.org, the PBS KIDS Video app, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

The Power of We: A Sesame Street Special will stream on HBO Max and PBS KIDS starting Thursday, Oct. 15; it will debut on PBS stations the same day (check your local listings). The special will also re-air throughout October and November on PBS stations and the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel.
