Spirit Airlines is holding a limited-time “status match” for members of certain hotel or airline rewards programs. Those who qualify will be eligible to get entry-level for Silver status or top-tier Gold status in the Free Spirit Program for a year.
Qualifying reward programs
Members of these 32 hotel or airline loyal reward programs qualify for the status match, including many popular ones like Hilton Honors, Marriott’s Bonvoy, American Airlines’ AAdvantage, and Delta’s SkyMiles. Your Spirit Silver or Gold status will based on your reward status in your other rewards program—but be aware that the status match will run you $49 for Silver and $99 for Gold. You also need to be a Free Spirit member to enroll in the status match, which you can do here. You won’t qualify for the status match if you’ve done other Spirit status matches or challenges over the last two years.
Spirit’s Silver and Gold plan benefits
If you’re a frequent flier with Spirit Airlines, there are some good benefits from being a Silver or Gold status tier holder.

If you fly one roundtrip with a carry-on bag, you’ve effectively paid off the Gold status.
How to request a status match
Spirit has an application on their site to request a status match. You’ll be asked for your name, email address, Free Spirit number, and country of residence. Then you’ll just need to add information on the loyalty program you’re already a part of, including proof of membership. After you pay, you can track your application.
